Title: Cause List Downloader - Save Your Evenings to be Wasted on Creating the Cause Lists

Published 9/18/2026Updated 9/19/2026

Every advocate knows this routine: it's 9 PM, you're done with the day's work, and now you have to sit down and manually piece together tomorrow's cause list, checking eCourts, cross-referencing your matters, and typing it all out so you know exactly which court, and which bench you need to be where.

It's tedious. It's repetitive. And it eats into time you could spend on actual case prep or just going home on time.

The Cause List Downloader on web.b8r.in is built to take that job off your plate. Export your case list from the eCourts app once, upload it to our tool, and get a clean, ready-to-use cause list in PDF for today, tomorrow or any other day of your choice. The list is also delivered straight to your inbox.

Here's exactly how it works.

Step 1: Export Your Case List from eCourts

Before you can use the downloader, you need your case data out of the eCourts app:

  1. Open the eCourts app and go to My Cases (if you haven't already added your cases here, do that first).

  2. Tap the refresh icon next to the delete icon to make sure your case list is up to date.

  3. Open the menu (the three horizontal lines, top-left).

  4. Tap Export.

This generates a file called myCases.txt. One thing to note: the file doesn't just appear — you'll be asked to choose where to save or send it before you can access it. This is where the process differs slightly between Android and iPhone.

On Android:

  • Gmail is your best bet. Selecting Gmail opens a compose window with the file already attached — just enter your own email address and send it to yourself. This also saves the file to your device faster than the Device option does.

  • Device works too — the file lands in Files app → Internal Storage → Download.

  • Google Drive is unreliable on this export flow and sometimes fails to save at all. We'd skip it for now.

On iPhone:

  • The Device option isn't available here, so use Drive or Gmail instead.

  • Drive will ask you to pick a Google account and save the file there.

  • Gmail is the more flexible choice — from that share sheet you can email yourself, save directly to your phone, share via WhatsApp, or AirDrop it to another device.

Once you have myCases.txt sitting somewhere accessible on your phone, you're ready for the next step.

Step 2: Upload to the Cause List Downloader

Head to web.b8r.in/cause-list-downloader and:

  1. Click Choose File and select your myCases.txt.

  2. Pick the date you want the cause list for — today or tomorrow.

  3. Enter your email address carefully. This is where your finished cause list will be sent, so a typo here means you won't get your file.

Step 3: Generate and Download

Click Prepare My Cause List. You'll immediately see how many cases are listed for the date you selected — a quick sanity check that everything came through correctly.

Give it a moment. Once processing is done, a Download button will appear — click it, and save your cause list PDF wherever you need it.

That's it. No manual cross-checking, no typing out court numbers and timings by hand — just a clean PDF you can glance at over your morning coffee.

Built by an Advocate, for Advocates

This tool exists because it solves a problem we deal with ourselves — the grind of manually preparing for the next day in court, often without the kind of support system a senior chamber might provide. If it saves you even twenty minutes a day, that's twenty minutes back for the work that actually needs your judgment.

Try the Cause List Downloader tonight, and walk into tomorrow already prepared.
